The Calendar Companion
The Calendar Companion brings the most advanced Elizabethan technology to you! It is a reproduction of the ‘writing tables’ or ‘table books’ often referred to by Shakespeare, which were the first pocket planners. This edition is especially for the Society of Creative Anachronism. The notebooks are approximately 3.75 x 4.75”, and .75” thick. The Tablet Pages can be written on with the included brass stylus as well as with some other instruments, and wiped clean with a wet cloth. This is 16th-century technology that is just right for now because it is sustainable and all natural. The Calendar Companion is designed to last for years and is closed with a hand-crafted reproduction brass clasp. The cover is stamped by hand with the same design that is on the original notebook in the Folger Shakespeare Library. Individuality and variation are guaranteed!
At the moment, the notebook is offered in a choice of two cover materials and two colors (black and brown). Imitation leather has a soft, velvety feel. Leather is the Real Thing ~ it is durable and thick and the spine will show the three binding cords clearly, giving a classic look. The printed pages (on laid cotton paper) contain the following:
